For our Weird and Wonderful project we had to produce an individual response to the following –
Weird and Wonderful
the project could focus on numerous aspects and should be an individual response.
Use one of the below ideas as a starting point:
Weird and Wonderful
the project could focus on numerous aspects and should be an individual response.
Use one of the below ideas as a starting point:
- Dreams or nightmares
- Surrealism
- Magic
- Fairy-tales
- Superhero powers.
I decided to do Surrealism.
- An aspect of Surrealism is the distortion of reality and the production of images that explore visual contradictions and fantasy. Surrealism is a cultural movement that began in the early 1920's and is best known for the visual artworks and writings of the group members.
Arno Rafael.
Arno Rafael tends to do his surrealism photographs using hands and in black and white.
I like Arnold's work because its unique and different.

Favourite Arno Rafael picture:
This is one of my favourite pictures of Arno Rafael because you can see the reflections of other buildings
on the building to the left, also it looks like a partition and you can see the buildings and cars in the middle.
I love how it's in black and white.

First idea.
Picture's to lead upto final piece.
Steps to final piece.
Final Piece.
As you can see for my weird and wonderful project I decided to do 'whiteboard hands' which is basically hands coming out of the whiteboard.
Firstly i took a picture of the whiteboard from the side, and then a picture of my hands as if they're coming out.
I then inserted the whiteboard into photoshop, then cropped out my hands and inserted them into photoshop moving them into the centre of the whiteboard. I then got a paper tear from Google also inserting it into photoshop. I then used the cloning tool to fade it into the whiteboard, so it looks like its part of the whiteboard, I then changed my contrast so my final piece is all one shade, as I didn't want to copy Arno Rafael style, I kept my piece in colour rather than doing it in black and white.
I only managed to create one final piece, but I am happy with the progress I made.
